Love is the Smiths: January 2012

Aaron had a great first month.

We had to go back to the doctor the day after we left the hospital for a weight check. He lost too much weight, so we had to go back again on Friday. Thankfully the milk came in and he had gained 9 oz. in 3 days. They had to weigh him twice to double check.

We love Aaron's

smell
sneezes
pouty lip (so hard to capture on film)
cuddles
grunts as he wakes up from naps
watching Sterling interact with him
reading to him
Mom/Dad nap times
friends bringing us meals
all the love through calls, texts, and facebook messages from family and friends!
Sterling and I watching him as he sleeps from the milk coma and saying how much we love him.

We keep saying, "He is so cute."

We love wrapping him in his soft blankets and watching him nap anywhere and everywhere.
Watching as the peace comes over when he goes outside.
Stern look as he is sleeping in the car seat or swing.

Getting up in the middle of the night was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I just love the time to cuddle with my sweet boy. It is so fun and such a bonding experience.

Some of our visitors for the month include my mom, Reed, Aunt Meri, Aunt Holly, Aunt Lizzie, Grandpa Webb and lots of friends.

We had a 1 week check up and these were his stats:
Weight- 8lbs 3 oz. (75%)
Length- 20 3/4 in. (85%)
Head- 14 in. (90%)

We had a 2 week check up and his stats were:

Weight- 9 lbs 7 oz. (75%)
Length- 21 1/2 in. (78%)
Head- 14 3/4 in. (90%)

We had his "1 month" check up, so technically he was 5 weeks, 3 days old.
Weight- 10 lbs 14 oz. (75%)
Length- 22 3/4 in. (95%)
Head- 15 1/4 in. (90%)

Dr. Pepper is so perfect when you have not had it in so long.

He likes to sleep in his bassinet.

1st visit to the pediatrician

Sleeping with mom is fun.

Greta came to love on baby Aaron too.

Aaron was trying to sleep at almost 1 month old.

First bath. He looks thrilled.

Who is this guy and what is he doing?

Dad loves looking at his sweet son.

Nanna came over to hug on her sweet Aaron.

We love taking naps with him.

He is such an angel when he sleeps.

Aunt Meri loves holding baby Aaron. She told us, "I love him."

Gran loves cuddling with her 4th grandbaby.

Chubby boy.

Aaron can be soothed by dad's finger. This worked out great during the first week that he was home. Mom had to come up with other soothing methods when he went back to work.
