Month 27 for A and Month 2 for L

Swimming class has made a huge difference for A. At the first class, he told us, "get out" and by the end of class he told us "more water". He is staying under for up to 4 seconds and not crying when he is lifted back up.

~ He loves Lincoln so much. He asks him questions like, "How was your map (nap)? How are you Wincoln? Are you good? What's the maaaatter? What's up?

~Lincoln is still the most precious baby! He had his first road trip to Austin and San Antonio and he was a champ. He got a little fussy in the car, but as long as we held him for a second and made sure he was fed, he was great. He loves looking around big eyed.

~Aaron likes to cross his eyes and say, "crazy eyes"

~I told him once not to pee on the carpet if his diaper is off. He now says, "no pee on the carpet, no pee on the floors, etc."

~Lincoln started cooing on the changing table and sometimes right after I have fed him. His little voice and sweet blue eyes are the cutest.

~Aaron loves to dance with Sterling to Group Love's Tongue Tied. As soon as Sterling walks in the door, he says, "Daddy, wanna dance?

~Aaron asks all day long, "Mom, wanna play cars?"

~Aaron is obsessed with the books Quick as a Cricket and the Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and  Big Hungry Bear.

Aaron and Lincoln are enjoying regular kicking fights in the bath tub.

Aaron asks each night for prayers for Nana, Uncle Brandon, Ruby, Kenzo, the vacuum, the pooer (shampooer) and the other vacuum.

Month 30 for A and month 5 for L

Lincoln rolled over for the first time on his four month birthday!

Aaron told mommy. "Daddy's at work. I miss Daddy." So sweet!

Aaron also said, "I fart. Daddy farts. I love farts."

Lincoln is cracking up when mommy says, "whapa!" and puts his arms up over his head.

Lincoln is completely addicted to TV if it is on. It seems to be on a lot more since it is football season and Aaron watches Curious George once a day.

Lincoln tried out the jumperoo and is not quite sure what to think of it yet. You are not immediately in love like Aaron was.

You know it has been hot a long time when...
Aaron: What is that?
Me: Those are called long sleeves.

Aaron asked for a napkin after he needed to spit out the chicken bouillon cube he stole from the pantry.

11 kids came over to play and Aaron walked into the room and shouted, "What a Mess!"

Lincoln has really started saying nananan and yayayaya.

Lincoln likes to take his lovie and put it over his face.

Month 3 & Month 4 for Aaron

Things we love about Aaron
  • He grips the bathtub on both sides to make sure he does not fall down.
  • He started playing with a ducky in the bath tub.
  • He sits in his lamb chair with such concentration as he tries to grab for the green lamb above. If he catches it, he pulls really hard on it.
  • His new game is for us to pull his hands as he uses his neck muscles to come to a sitting up position. He gets huge smiles and grins when we do this. We say, "here we go, here we go, you did it!"
  • I always tell him, "I know you, you're Aaron Avery Smith" and he gets a huge smile on his face.
  • Some of our regular songs include: Wheels on the bus, Old McDonald, Days of the Week, If You're Happy and You Know it.
  • He experienced the exersaucer for the first time and loved it. He laughed as it bounced up and down and was excited about the toys.
  • He is starting to sleep with his rabbit lovie. We are hoping it will allow him to sleep longer.
  • He is kicking his legs vigorously when laying on the mat and when in the bath tub.
  • He started sucking on his bottom lip.
  • He loves sticking his tongue out.
  • He has rolled from stomach to back 3 times this month.
Eating
  • We are moving him up to 5 oz. when he is fed from a bottle.
Sleeping
  • We have done some sleep training and it was pretty brutal. It has been getting much better so I am feeling very blessed for that. He only got up one time last night (Aug. 3) at 3am and then slept until 8am. We are so grateful for that. It will be tough when I go back to work, but I am sure I can use the early hours to get stuff done.
  • He slept for 8 hours on the second to last night before his 4 month birthday! That was a record!
We have taken 3 trips so far in his 3rd month. They have been really fun, but the car rides have not been. Thank goodness for the keys that the Woods are letting us borrow. He is great with those for a little bit until he gets mad at them and pulls them really hard while crying.
Amarillo to meet his Great Aunts and Great Grandma
Houston for Amy and Rob's wedding, but Aaron spent time with cousins, Aunt Holly, Aunt Lizzie, and Gran
Austin to see his future A&M roommates and an overnight at Aunt Katy's house.

I wish we could have gotten this on video, but Aaron discovered that his head can move 180 degrees. I was holding him while we were trying to eat dinner and he was looking out the window. Then he turned his head from the window to look at Sterling. He turned back to look out the window and then realized he could turn it to look at Sterling. He kept doing it as he was fascinated that it would move all the way to both sides. So sweet.

Month 7 for Lincoln and 32 for Aaron

-Lincoln is finally sitting up pretty well!
- The tooth is coming soon as he started to get a little fussy.

-We thought that Aaron's room might have bed bugs so mama was getting stressed. Aaron could sense that and walked up to mama and recited his memory verse! "I lift my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come from, my help comes from the Lord who created Heaven and Earth" Psalm 121: 1, 2
So touching!

-Lincoln is loving nodding his head up and down. He is also loving his solid foods. So far he has tried avocado, oatmeal, banana, pears, applesauce, peas, sweet potatoes and butternut squash.

-Today, 12/4/13, daddy called while mama was changing Lincoln's diaper in the room. Aaron answered the phone all by himself. Daddy asked him a few questions, "how are you?" "what are you doing" and Aaron answered them all correctly. Then he decided he was all done with the phone call, said, "good bye" and closed the flip phone to hang up on daddy. Big boy!

-Mama loves singing songs to Lincoln, like Humpty Dumpty, Duke of York, Dormez Vous, and Lincoln Shepherd Smith.

-Aaron enjoys the song to the tune of Bingo but with his own name.

Month 8 for Lincoln and Month 33 for Aaron

12/19/13- Lincoln must be in the Christmas Spirit because he learned to clap today. He just started doing it all on his own. Aaron and mom encouraged him to do it more and he kept doing it.

- On this same day, Aaron said to the wind. Wind, stop blowing my hair! Then he told me, "that is a good idea." when it came to doing a puzzle.

-Well, Lincoln got Croup for the second time in his 7 month life. He rallied through the Christmas Eve service and even gaves us moments of happiness at Snuffers.

-Aaron's signature phrase is, "that's a good idea!"

-Aaron continually thinks that daddy is Robin Thicke. He most recently mistook him for Wolverine. Daddy had gone 4 days without shaving.

-He still requests and loves dancing to tongue tied.

-Lincoln started waving! Sterling came home and he waved to him. Lincoln also started clapping his hands all on his own.

-Lincoln is so content that he seems to fall over and not make a peep. He is intentionally trying to grab things while kind of rocking forward from the sitting position.

-Lincoln is very easy to put down for naps and sleep. Sometimes it sounds like it is going to be really violent as he cries when you lay him down, but you stop before I am one foot down the hallway.

-You started rolling over from your back to your tummy and becoming a tummy sleeper.

Month 9 for L and Month 34 for Aaron

-You got two teeth! It was Sunday, January 19th 2014 and when we woke up we discovered two teeth. Oops, hope they came at the same time!

-You have almost figured out more.

-You still love sleeping with your little blanket and lovie.

-You love mum mums and pretty much any kind of food we have gotten you. You still sometimes wake up at 4:30 am waling and we are never quite sure why.
